God’s Love
We believe that God’s love is the starting point and the ending point of everything. It reaches us before we seek it and sustains us through every season of life. This love is not earned; it is given freely to all.

A community shaped by grace, grounded in Scripture, and sent in love
Our Tradition
The Methodist tradition is part of the wider Christian family, rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and shaped by the eighteenth-century renewal movement led by John and Charles Wesley. At its heart is a simple but life-changing conviction: God’s grace is available to every person, and that grace can transform us from the inside out.
Methodists have always emphasized both personal faith and social responsibility. We believe that a living relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the foundation of everything — and that this faith must express itself in love for our neighbors. We speak of personal holiness (the inner life of devotion, prayer, and growing character) and social holiness (the outward life of compassion, justice, and service) as two sides of the same coin. You cannot have one without the other.
At United Methodist, we are proud to stand in this tradition. We are not perfect, but we are people who have been captured by God’s love and are learning, day by day, what it means to follow Jesus more faithfully.
What Guides Us
These six values are not a checklist but a compass — the things we return to again and again as we seek to follow Christ together.
We believe that God’s love is the starting point and the ending point of everything. It reaches us before we seek it and sustains us through every season of life. This love is not earned; it is given freely to all.
Prayer is the heartbeat of our relationship with God. In prayer we listen, we speak, we lament, and we give thanks. It is how we stay connected to the source of our life and the One who loves us most.
The Bible is the living word through which we come to know God. We read it with open minds and receptive hearts, trusting the Holy Spirit to speak through its pages and shape us in the way of Christ.
Jesus moved toward people in their pain. As his followers, we seek to do the same — offering kindness, presence, and practical care to those who are hurting, lonely, or in need.
We were not made to walk alone. In community we find encouragement, accountability, and the joy of shared life. We laugh together, weep together, and grow together in grace.
Faith that does not bear fruit is not alive. We are called to serve our neighbors near and far, carrying Christ’s love into the world through acts of mercy, justice, and generosity.
A distinctive emphasis of the Methodist tradition is the understanding of how grace works. We believe that God’s grace comes to us in three movements:
We are saved by grace through faith, and we are saved for good works — prepared in advance for us to walk in. Service is not how we earn God’s love; it is how we respond to it.
